Research

UWM is one of just two public research universities in the State of Wisconsin. We also hold Carnegie R1 status – a mark of excellence for our research productivity. The College of Letters & Science is the research powerhouse of the campus. We are one of nine colleges within UWM, but account for more than 50% of the research grants and activity on campus.
