Each May since 2015, UWM German has held an annual Spring Awards Ceremony. In 2020, like so much else, our event was cancelled. In 2021, we returned to this tradition for what will hopefully be our first (and only) entirely virtual awards ceremony. If this year’s ceremony lacked some of the elements of the past (food and drink especially), the spirit of the evening – to honor and celebrate the very best of our students and to thank and congratulate our program’s graduating class – was very much still in effect. For this unique ceremony, we also invited students to share with us their reasons for studying German, which you can view here.

The ceremony and the kind words of our students left us humbled and energized and while we can’t wait to do it in person next year, we are overjoyed to have been able to share such a special evening with so many amazing people! Danke!
