In addition to on-going and one-time events, the German Program puts on two larger events, one in the fall and one in the spring.
Spring Awards Ceremony
Each May, the German program hosts an Awards Ceremony as a means of celebrating our students’ achievements. At this event, we induct new members into Delta Phi Alpha, the German National Honor Society, honor our best students at all levels of language learnings, from elementary through advanced, graduate work, and celebrate our graduating seniors.

Student Work Exhibit
Each December, we hold a student work exhibit. where our students’ best work (posters, videos, songs, skits, essays, etc.) from German classes. Through this event, we endeavor to give beginning students a glance at the semesters ahead as well as offer to more advanced ones an opportunity to reminisce about their first semesters of German. The student work exhibit contributes to strengthening the community of German learners on campus and motivates students to continue learning German.
