Research Interests

Chase is interested in the alteration of basalt in hydrothermal zones and the possible analog these alterations have to similar deposits on Mars. He is also interested in the formation and evolution of volcanoes, particularly cinder cones and other related volcanic processes. He is currently researching hydrothermal vents in the Myvatn area and Reykjannes peninsula of Iceland.
