I am interested to understand the mechanisms controlling the uranium concentration in groundwater during flooding events in Riverton, Wyoming, a uranium milling site. The goal is to present the results with a model incorporating the flooding events to determine how the uranium is transporting from the vadose zone to the aquifer.  The understanding of U mechanisms will allow us to (1) better define the contaminant plumes, (2) verify the occurrence of persistent secondary contaminant sources, (3) better understand why the contaminant spikes after flooding events, and (4) assess if there is any contaminant plume stagnation near the Little Wind River, WY.
