Tuesday, September 27, 2022, was the book launch for, “Telling Our Stories: A History of Diversity at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 1956 to 2022” edited by Drs. Chia Y. Vang and David J. Pate, Jr. It is UWM’s first diversity history book highlighting the contributions diverse groups have made to our university.

Derrick Langston, PhD student in the Communication program and Multicultural Student Success Coordinator for UWM’s Black Student Cultural Center, co-authored a chapter with Dr. Pate and H. Victoria Pryor (Student Services Program Manager at the UWM Black Student cultural Center) titled, “Lifting Up the Race: The Contributions of Black Folk at UWM.” We are so proud of Derrick!
