Custard, Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt

Frozen Custard is popular in Milwaukee, don’t mistake it for ice cream! The main difference is the use of eggs as an ingredient, and less air added in the process which results in a creamier, denser product. Some popular spots to try in Milwaukee include:

Pizza


Pizza in Milwaukee may not be as distinct as Chicago or New York style, but it’s still delicious. Traditional Milwaukee pizza is cut in square rather than triangles and a thin crust.

Friday fish fry is a beloved Milwaukee tradition rooted in Catholic heritage, when parishioners were encouraged to abstain from meat on Fridays. Breweries have always been a strong part of Milwaukee culture, and with the rise of craft beers and breweries in recent years it’s hard to explore the city without coming across one or two. Historically Pabst, Miller and Lakefront were at the forefront of the brewery scene in Milwaukee. Now there are dozens to choose from!
