Experimental Tuesdays: The Works of Alisi Telengut
UWM Union Cinema 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee, WIAlisi Telengut is a Canadian artist of Mongolian roots living between Berlin and Montréal/Tiohtià:ke. She creates frame-by-frame, under-the-camera animations using mixed media, including oil pastel, sand, stones, crystals, and found materials. Through handmade and painterly processes, her work explores human-nature relationships, animistic worldviews, and Indigenous knowledge systems of Mongolian peoples.

Virtual EventBrett Lysne is an artist working in printmaking, drawing, artist books, and mixed media. His work is inspired by mapmaking, language, knowledge, and queer record-keeping. Currently Brett is living in Minneapolis, MN and is a co-op member at Highpoint Center for Printmaking.

Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Yinan Wang
Virtual EventYinan Wang 王一男 is a filmmaker born and raised in Beijing. His recent work, 甜腻腻 Thick & Sweet, reconstructs both personal and collective memories of a local Chinese restaurant through cutouts, reenactments, found footage, and fragments of earlier films, quietly probing how images form—and deform—cultural identity. Wang received his BFA from UWM and is a recipient of the 2026 Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellowships for Individual Artists.

Special Features: The Intimate Scene: Directing, Consent & Collaboration
Mitchell Hall, Fine Arts Cinema Room B91 3203 N. Downer Ave., Milwaukee, WIIntimate scenes require more than choreography—they require trust, communication, consent, and thoughtful collaboration. This workshop introduces students to the principles of intimacy coordination and explores how directors and filmmakers can create a safe, respectful environment when working with actors on intimate material. Students will learn practical approaches for communicating boundaries, preparing scenes, and supporting actors throughout the filmmaking process.

Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee, WIUW-Milwaukee alumni, stone sculptor/painter SHADDSTONE©️ collaborates with alumni master percussionist Martin Shadd and friends, to present an experience of abstract/impressionism as music. The musical journey will be performed on unique and traditional instruments to create a series of “sound-escapes."

Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Micah Alhadeff
Virtual EventMicah Alhadeff is a digital artist, curator, and educator whose work explores glitch aesthetics, virtual embodiment, and speculative transformation. Alhadeff’s work has been exhibited at Sotheby's in New York City, The Royal Institute in London, NFT.NYC, NFT Show Europe in Valencia, Spain, Tech Contemporary in Copenhagen, and across 1000 billboards in Belgium through Art Crush Gallery. Alhadeff is as Assistant Professor of Kinetic Imaging at Western Michigan University where he teaches experimental approaches to game engines, worldbuilding, and emerging technologies in digital art.
