1000 Books before Kindergarten

The 1000 Books before Kindergarten reading program encourages parents and caregivers to read to children ages five and under. The goal of reading 1,000 books before kindergarten is to provide your child the learning readiness skills needed to enter kindergarten. It may sound like a daunting task, but if you read just three books every day, at the end of one year you will have read 1,095 books. The 1000 Books before Kindergarten app allows you to keep track of your child's progress towards this goal.

Upon opening the app, the user is presented with a random tip related to early literacy in children.

The main dashboard of the app allows the user to keep track of their children's progress. Once a child is added, the user can navigate to the add book page to start making progress towards 1000 books!

Book List

After a book has been added for a child, a record for the book will appear in their book list. This record includes information about what was read, as well as when it was read.

As books are added, the child's number of books increases and at certain points achievements will be earned. This page allows the user to view and share achievements they have unlocked.
