In honor of Black History Month, The Sociocultural Programming and the Planetarium Club, co-sponsored by the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies, hosted Stars, Stories, & Rhythms of Africa at the Manfred Olson Planetarium on February 6th, 2019. The event included poetry from Kavon Cortez Jones and dance performances from local dance company, O.N.F.Y.A.H. along with indoor stargazing of stars from different latitudes all across the African continent. Other co-sponsors included African Student Association, Africology Now, and UWM Black Cultural Center.
