CCampis Workshop: Mindful Awareness Practices for Calm and Caring Parents
October 19, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
What is Mindfulness? Everyone has the ability to bring their undivided attention to what they are doing in the present moment – this is a natural ability. Being mindful is learning how to extend and maintain those moments of focus for increasing amounts of time. Workshop Attendees will learn about ways to:
- Reduce stress
- Improve physical and mental well-being
- Increase mental clarity
- Cultivate a peaceful and happy life
Learn skills to respond, rather than react, to challenging events. Practicing these skills in low-stress environments helps to access more thoughtful, choice-making abilities in higher-stress situations.
This Workshop is free and open to UWM student parents and parents with children at the UWM Children’s Learning Center.
Dinner for you and your children will be provided courtesy of the Children’s Learning Center, the Women’s Resource Center & the Life Impact Program. Funding for this event is provided by the CCAMPIS grant through the UWM Children’s Learning Center.
RSVP by October 14th to the WRC either via email (wmncntr@uwm.edu) or phone (414-229-2852)!
