Spring 2026 Essential Parking & Transit Information

All student parking permits are sold out. Students can register for the UPARK Park & Ride at Capitol Humboldt; students who pay segregated fees as part of tuition can register for free.

Employees who need a parking permit can purchase one for the Pavilion/Klotsche Garage, NWQ Garage, or Lots 7 and 20 SARUP/Cunningham.

Visitors can check the UWM Parking Finder powered by Modii for directions to lots with vacant parking spaces for visitors.

There is no free parking on campus. Parking is enforced at all times 24 hours / 7 days a week. There is no grace period before parking has been paid for or after the paid time has expired. This applies to students, faculty/staff, visitors, contractors, and customers with accessibility needs.

    Overnight Visitor Parking

Visitor overnight parking is available for a fee at NWQ Garage, Pavilion Garage, and Sandburg Garage (dependent on space availability). Overnight parking at Sandburg can be reserved through onsite pay stations or through a contactless payment method (such as Parkmobile, Passport, or PayByPhone). If you do not have a residential permit and need overnight parking at NWQ or Pavilion garage, please email uwmpark@uwm.edu or call 414-229-4000 for permission. Visitor overnight parking is not allowed at other locations on campus. Individuals staying at Kenilworth Garage may be eligible for parking; contact University Housing for more information.

Contractor parking is available with a “K” permit at outdoor lots at the all-day special visitor rate of $12 a day. Monthly “K” Permits cost $124 each. Vendors and contractors can purchase daily and monthly passes through the Parking Portal. You will need to create an account to purchase the permit.

Use the UWM Parking Finder app powered by Modii to determine where you can park. (Be sure to filter to K Permit in the Parking Finder to get the best results.) Typically, you are able to park in spaces with yellow “payment or validation required” signs.

If you have multiple workers coming to campus at the same time, you will need a separate permit for each person. Only one vehicle under a permit can be on campus at any time. So, if two workers need to be here, you need two permits.

Alternatively, you can pay by the hour using contactless payment methods in the following lots:
