How can I pay for parking?
Daily / Hourly Parking
UWM offers several convenient daily/hourly parking options for faculty, staff, students and visitors.
- Gated Garages – Lubar, NWQ, Pavilion/Klotsche, and Student Union: Customers pull a ticket on entering a garage. Payment is required before leaving the garage. Losing your ticket prior to exiting the garage or having insufficient payment on exiting may result in extra fees. See the gated garage payment options page for more information.
- All other locations – including Sandburg and EMS Garage – require payment on arrival. You must enter your vehicle’s license plate in an approved payment channel. Use contactless payment providers like ParkMobile, Passport, or PayByPhone. Meters available in select lots. Failure to pay or obey parking signage may result in a citation. Conditional Acceptance
At surface lots as well as Kenilworth public section, EMS, and Sandburg garages, payment through these apps are accepted:
- Parkmobile
- Passport Parking
- PayByPhone
Lubar, NWQ, and Union garages accept cash (exact bills only, no change given) at select pay on foot machines. Payment by cash is restricted to a few surface lots.

Daily / Hourly Rates
Parking facilities typically have different rate schedules. The relevant rate schedule is selected based on the day of the week and hour a vehicle enters a facility. Parking is not allowed overnight (2 AM to 5 AM) unless you have an overnight permit (see above) or have attained prior permission from Transportation Services.
