The mission of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Police Department is to provide a safe and secure environment in which to learn, live and work. UWMPD is committed to community policing through evidence-based, problem-oriented, data-informed and collaborative strategies.
UWMPD operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is staffed by 34 sworn law enforcement officers and 11 civilian staff members who are dedicated to serving the needs of the university community. Our success is dependent upon developing and maintaining strong partnerships with an engaged university community.
