The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Police Department values the sanctity of life and the rights of the community we serve. As an organization, we are committed to providing the university community with professional police services that deter crime while providing a safe and welcoming environment to learn, live and work.

Leadership – Influential acts promoting professional and competent service to the community.

Integrity – We acknowledge that we must strengthen the community’s trust by continuing to demonstrate that we are accountable for our words and actions. We are always honest and truthful.

Courage – We place the safety and well-being of others before our own and accept the responsibility to act against injustice and wrongdoing. Police members are expected to take calculated risks in service of the community.

Competence – We are accountable for the quality of our performance and the standards of our conduct. We are reflective on our performance and always seek to improve.

Respect – We value the sanctity of life and the rights of the community we serve. We treat everyone with dignity and respect. We perform our duties in a fair and impartial manner.
