Guihua Rose Zhou is currently a Ph.D. candidate of Mechanical Engineering Department at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). She is expecting to achieve her Ph.D. degree on December 2017, before that she got her Bachelor degree from Xiangtan University, China in 2012.

Her current research is focusing on developing the field-effect transistor based water sensor/biosensor using various 2D-nanomaterials. Within her 5 years’ research life, she published, as first author or co-author, over 10 journal papers on real-time, selective detection of various concomitants in water. Some of her research work has been adopted in the project “NSF PFI: AIR-RA: Enabling Low-cost, Real-time Monitoring of Heavy Metal Ions in Drinking Water”, starting from 2014.
