Water Technology Accelerator (WaTA)

Ahmad Abbas is currently a PhD Student in Mechanical Engineering Department at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is a Research Assistant in the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Laboratory for Water-Turbines (Hydro-turbines) Performance in Water Technology Accelerator (WaTA) of UWM. Also, he is a Research Assistant in the Industrial Assessment Center of UWM (WM-IAC) for Energy, Productivity, and Waste Assessments. Mr. Abbas received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2012 from Al-Balqa Applied University (in Jordan), and M.Sc. degree in Energy Systems from the Hashemite University (Jordan) in 2015. Prior to joining UWM, he was a Technical Support Engineer in PETRA Engineering for HVAC Industries (a leading HVAC manufacturer in the Middle East) for 2 years and a half.

His current research interests are:

  • Energy Auditing
  • Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
  • Renewable Energy
  • Mr. Abbas has published 1 journal paper and 3 conference papers in hydro-turbines, concentrated solar power and energy auditing areas.
