UWM vaccination incentive program offers students chance to win prizes

MILWAUKEE_UW-Milwaukee has launched its Vaccination Incentive Program for students, as a way to ensure that its three campuses reach higher levels of protection against the COVID-19 virus. The health and safety of the campus community is crucial as we gear up for the fall semester.

The incentive program — called It’s Worth a Shot! — encourages enrolled students to get vaccinated and share their proof of vaccination through an online form. Then, they’re automatically entered to win one of more than 100 prizes, including MacBook Air laptops, tickets to Brewers and UWM men’s basketball games, and restaurant gift cards. The weekly drawings start Aug. 26.

By getting their first or second vaccine dose, students also will have a chance to walk away with free UWM-branded merchandise at a series of UWM vaccination clinics on campus, starting Aug. 10.

Also, students who receive their vaccinations and share proof will help get UWM closer to the 70% threshold for vaccination. Any UW campus that reaches that vaccination percentage among enrolled students is eligible for scholarships worth $7,000. Learn more about the UW System’s 70-for-70 program.
