UWM jumps to No. 20 in rankings of online bachelor’s programs

UWM has leaped into the top 20 of U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 rankings of online education programs. The university jumped 15 spots, to No. 20, for best online bachelor’s programs.

Two more specific UWM online programs ranked among the best in the nation. The university ranked No. 11 for both its online bachelor’s program in psychology and online bachelor’s programs for veterans.

The 2024 rankings, released today, evaluated more than 1,600 programs. The rankings only include degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions. The rankings are based on several factors specific to online learning, including student engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies.

“UWM is the state’s leader in online education,” UWM Provost Andrew Daire said. “The U.S. News rankings for Best Online Bachelor’s, Best Online Bachelor’s for Veterans and Best Online Psychology program underscore the university’s commitment to high-quality online education. UWM has risen in the rankings for several consecutive years, thanks to the faculty and staff who offer high-impact online educational experiences and provide excellent online student support and UWM’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.”

UWM has long been a leader in online education, offering more than 880 courses and 51 degrees and certificates that can be completed fully online.
