UWM climbed several spots in the 2026 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report. The annual report ranks undergraduate universities and programs in the United States.
UWM’s nursing program ranked among the top 11% nationwide, landing at No. 74 among 686 programs considered in the 2026 rankings.
The psychology program at UWM made the largest leap, climbing 49 spots to rank in the top 25% in the country.
Two other programs, business and computer science, made strong showings. The business program ranked in the top 20%, while computer science is among the top 30% nationwide.
UWM’s overall score improved as well, climbing 14 spots in the rankings of national universities after advancing 17 spots in last year’s rankings.
The annual rankings consider 17 key measures, including graduation rates, graduate indebtedness and post-graduate earnings.
The rankings, which U.S. News has calculated for four decades, are intended to provide prospective students and their families a look at the comparative merits of undergraduate programs across the country.
