Publication submissions process simplified

We are streamlining the way faculty publications and presentations are submitted to UWM Report and other campus publications.

Previously, faculty members have had to submit publications and presentations to multiple places: University Relations, their school or college newsletter and, in many cases, to Digital Measures, which is overseen by the provost’s office.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 4, faculty publications and presentations should be submitted through Digital Measures for publication in UWM Report. Submissions made through Digital Measures also will be published in the newsletters of the College of Letters & Sciences and other schools.

Items submitted through Digital Measures will be displayed on UWM Report for one year from the time of submission. To create a permanent bibliography of your work, contact the website administrator of your school or college about using a Digital Measures shortcode to display your publications and presentations on your faculty page.

This change is part of an effort to create “one-stop shopping” for faculty and staff members who want to share their research and other news. In October, the campus announcement, events and kudos/other news forms on UWM Report were updated so that submissions can be sent to the provost’s office and school/college marketing teams as well as University Relations. Work also is underway to create a universal campus calendar system that would allow users to submit an event once and have it show up on multiple calendars hosted on campus websites.
