Young scientists get a hands-on education in chemistry at UWM

Several hundred middle and high school students came to UWM March 31 for a STEM Expo, where they got to conduct experiments to learn about chemistry, and also toured campus, visited research labs and sat in on lectures.

The event came a day before some 1,200 students competed in the Wisconsin Science Olympiad.

“This was really cool,” said Connor Jacobson, a senior at Beloit Turner High School.
