Nurses are usually among those tending to the wounded and injured. But this week a group of College of Nursing volunteers became the “victims” in a simulated disaster to help train emergency responders.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, a UW-Milwaukee alumus, has been named CEO of the Year in what a Forbes columnist calls “the cloud wars.” Nadella earned his master’s degree in computer science from UWM in 1990.
Several UWM alumni will screen work at the 2018 Slamdance Film Festival, Jan. 19-25. The festival is in Park City, Utah, and runs in concurrence with the Sundance Film Festival.

“Tribology and Applications of Self-Lubricating Materials” – written by Omrani and co-authored by Pradeep Rohatgi, UWM distinguished professor, and Pradeep L. Menezes – was published last month by CRC Press.
Throngs of black male middle and high school students filled the UWM Student Union Wednesday and Thursday for the fifth annual Summit on Black Male Youth. The event was expected to draw about 2,000 students.
