Winter Welcome kicks off the spring semester with a full roster of free, fun and rewarding activities. Held Jan. 22 to 25, the activities included art projects, meditation, an informational study-abroad fair, a hot chocolate hang-out and a special UWM women’s basketball game.
UWM sprang back to life as some 4,000 students descended on campus and moved into residence halls during move-in week. Crews of volunteers helped students unpack cars and vans. Dana Kaleta, director of the Quest Project within the TRIO & Pre-College Programs at UWM, has taken two trips to Puerto Rico to assist in humanitarian efforts with La Causa Charter School in Milwaukee.
