Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Area Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee are working together to create a true public education network called M3 (pronounced M-cubed).
The initiative reached a major milestone with the graduation of the first M3 Early College pilot program class. The 32 MPS students who comprised the class earned 10 college credits over the Spring 2019 semester by taking courses at MATC and UWM, getting a taste of college life.
Students spoke about their experiences after the Early College graduation ceremony on the UWM campus in May 2019.
Early College has doubled in size this fall, with more than 60 students now taking 19 college credits over the course of the academic year.
