UWM Institute for Child & Family Well-Being addresses trauma, builds resilience

Resilience is a central skill to supporting the well-being of children and adults. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) add toxic levels of stress that can impair child development and functioning, requiring additional support in building resilience. Parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) are evidence-based interventions promoted by the UWM Institute for Child and Family Well-Being that promote resilience, address the impact of trauma on children and help parents support their children.
