The UWM Art History Gallery in Mitchell Hall is undergoing an extensive renovation and expansion.
The renovation, which is expected to be complete in the spring, will transform the gallery into a 2,400-square-foot state-of-the-art exhibition space. It will be named the Emile H. Mathis II Gallery, after the art collector and gallery owner whose gift is making the work possible.
The expansion will provide additional exhibition and storage space for the UWM Art Collection, the university’s ever-expanding collection of 7,600 works of art.
An official opening event will be held in fall 2017.
