Jose Antonio Trujillo is graduating from the College of Engineering & Applied Science with a bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. At UWM, Trujillo was an undergraduate research assistant at the Center for Sustainable Electrical Energy Systems. Trujillo has been hired at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, where he interned this year. Pierce VanValkenburg, who performs as Mermaid Echo, is set to graduate from UW-Milwaukee’s School of Freshwater Sciences. Mermaid Echo works to inspire the next generation to care for aquatic ecosystems through educational storytelling and hands-on learning at Discovery World, Milwaukee Riverkeeper and elsewhere. These 2023 graduates of UW-Milwaukee are starting their careers as they get their diplomas.
Many of these students found their early career success thanks to internships, on-campus career fairs and UWM professors with strong networks in their fields. Each of these students is entering a career directly related to what they studied during their time at UWM.
