Well Entrepreneur: Three Minute Gratitude Practice

This week we share with you a gratitude practice as a way to support well-being on the path of entrepreneurship.

Cultivating gratitude is an invitation to re-frame our perspective. When we learn how to shift our mindset from what we think we want, need, or must accomplish to be successful, towards an attitude of appreciation for all that we have right here and now, we can start to feel more fulfilled in our personal and professional lives. Studies in neuroscience show that gratitude has a positive impact on well-being, including an increase in self-worth, a greater sense of belonging, stronger bonds with community, and the desire to enhance the well-being of others. Robert Emmons, the world’s leading scientific expert on gratitude at the University of California, Davis, says, “Choosing to be grateful is essential. Gratitude has the power to energize. To heal. To bring us hope and help us cope during challenging times.”

Use this three-minute exercise as part of your morning or evening routine! Choose a quiet, comfortable spot in your home, grab a pen and paper, and spend about a minute with each question.
