Innovation Scholarships
UW-Milwaukee Students were awarded $27,200 in Innovation Scholarships for 2024-2025 and the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center (LEC) is now offering another round of scholarships. The deadline to apply for these Scholarships is February 1st.
Each year, the LEC awards two prestigious scholarships to 10 outstanding students:
- The Hoque Scholarship for Innovation
- The Patricia H. Weisberg Innovation Scholarship
These scholarships recognize and support students who demonstrate exceptional creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit both on- and off-campus.
Hoque Scholarship for Innovation
- Open to both undergraduate and graduate students with a strong interest in science, business, or entrepreneurship.
- Preference given to students actively engaged in LEC programming.
- Provides resources to further explore innovative potential.
- $2,000 award
Patricia H. Weisberg Innovation Scholarship
- Open to UWM undergraduate students (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and transfer students) who display innovative and creative abilities through participation in activities on or off campus.
- $2,000 award
Here at the LEC, we are committed to fostering an environment where students are encouraged to push boundaries and think creatively. Through these scholarships, we provide students with the financial support they need to continue exploring experimental ways of solving problems.
The LEC continues its mission to support the next generation of innovators. The LEC also offers new opportunities for students to engage in experimental problem-solving. One such opportunity is the upcoming Sustainability Collider. This Collider will provide mentorship, networking, development of startup ideas and the chance to work on real-world sustainability projects. With this scholarship and participation in the Collider, you’ll have a significant head start over other innovators and entrepreneurs.
The LEC remains dedicated to empowering UWM students by offering scholarships and programming that encourage innovative thinking and entrepreneurial action. We are grateful for the support of Hoque and the Weisberg family to help propel students towards their dreams.
