Brian Thompson is President of the UWM Research Foundation, Inc., and Director of the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center – complementary roles that allow him to help faculty, students and innovators learn from the entrepreneurial experience, bring their ideas to market and become effective change agents. He is also Co-PI on the Milwaukee I-Corps (Innovation Corps) Site sponsored by the National Science Foundation and teaches new ventures in the Lubar School of Business. In previous roles, Mr. Thompson led the development and launch of communications satellites, worked in corporate ventures and helped create startups in biotechnology and the entertainment industry. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from UCLA.

Fun Fact:

Brian loves to bike, and once rode across the country.

 

LEC Teaching Fellows Information:

Mr. Thompson is President of the UWM Research Foundation and the Director of the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center. He is also Co-PI on the National Science Foundation Milwaukee I-Corps Site, and he teaches new ventures has taught as an adjunct instructor the Lubar School of Business and the UWM Honors College.
