We wanted to take a moment to update you on our research actively looking into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the related shelter-in-place and social distancing regulations in effect here in Wisconsin.
The COVID-19 Effect on Wisconsin’s Nonprofit Sector is a statewide collaboration among faculty and staff at many University of Wisconsin System campuses, including UW-Milwaukee, UW-Whitewater, UW-Madison, UW-Green Bay, UW-Parkside, and UW-Oshkosh.
As well all know, the impact on the nonprofit sector has been (in many cases) devastating, with potentially long-lasting effects. This study aims to provide real-time data to government officials, foundations, and other decision-makers about the current economic conditions facing nonprofits and the need for immediate and long-term support. More information on the overall project can be found on the HBI website.
As part of this look into how Wisconsin nonprofits have been affected, we have also released several sub-sector and regional reports looking into aspects of the state nonprofit sector that significantly step outside of the broader statewide findings.
