KANENON:WE: Original Seeds – Film Screening

Join us for an evening of food, community, and storytelling as we gather for a screening of Kanenon:we – Original Seeds, presented in partnership with Ukwakhwa. We’ll begin at the EQI Fire Circle by sharing a meal of Oneida White Corn Soup, followed by a brief introduction from Becky and Steve Webster, alongside Gise Metoxen from Ukwakhwa.
The film highlights three Haudenosaunee women—Angela Ferguson, Rebecca Webster, and Rowen White—who are reclaiming their ancestral roles as seed keepers. Through regeneration, rematriation, and the protection of sacred seeds, they honor the work of their ancestors and offer a powerful vision of Indigenous food sovereignty in action.
After the screening, stay for a short Q&A and community conversation.
Everyone is welcome.
