Wisconsin’s only master’s program with one-year options

Turn your graduate internship experiences into valuable credits taken through supervised work experiences while earning your degree. You’ll apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to real-world engineering projects, enabling you to complete your 31-credit degree within a year.

Two ways to reduce your time to graduation:

UWM’s Accelerated Graduate Degree Program (Integrated BS-MS) enables you to take six graduate credits while completing your bachelor’s degree. This work can satisfy six credits of your bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, at the undergraduate tuition rate.

Program Overview:

  1. 3.2 minimum GPA
  2. 36 credits or less remaining for your bachelor’s degree
  3. 6 credits maximum
  4. No GRE exam required for admission to UWM Graduate School

You’ll appreciate a hands-on learning experience within a professional engineering environment when you participate in this internship course in Civil & Environmental Engineering. You can also enhance your technical skills, critical thinking abilities, and professional development, preparing you for a successful career. You can also earn an hourly salary in a full-time or part-time role, providing you with financial support.

Internship overview:

  • 6 credits maximum (3 credits maximum per semester).
  • To receive three credits you are required to work a minimum of 150 hours (50 hours per credit).
  • You can only take this as a non-thesis graduate student.
  • You must have completed at least six graduate-level credits before enrolling in the CIV ENG 921 Graduate Internship course.
  • Your internship will be coordinated between the department, the company and you. You may not register for the course directly.
  • To gain admission to the CIV ENG 921 Graduate Internship course you must have already obtained an internship and must be registered for this course during the semester in which the internship takes place.
