UWM Holds Economics Mini-Conference

Spearheaded by Assistant Professor Kevin Thom, the Department held a successful day-long conference.

On January 10th, job market candidates from neighboring universities came to campus to present their job market papers before UWM faculty, graduate students and each other.  Presentations included estimating the elasticity of labor supply, the role of minimum lot sizes on residential sorting, spatial gaps in local college and labor market opportunities and comparative advantage in healthcare delivery.  Presenters came from Northwestern, Chicago and Madison.

It was a great opportunity for presenters to gain experience and for the Department faculty and students to hear some of the latest research.

The conference was made possible by your contributions to the Economics Department General Fund.
