Bio

As a little girl, Christina was inspired by the passion and tenacity of local artists and musicians in Jackson Square. She pursued this inspiration at the collegiate level, soon to complete her BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History. She is a member of UW-Milwaukee’s Honors College and has been a recipient of the Ziegler Family Scholarship since 2009.

Christina is still the little girl who trailed after artists in New Orleans, only all grown up. She still loves beignets, George Rodrigue, and the music of Louis Armstrong. Contact her with your projects; she is always looking for new ventures. In the words of Louis, it’s a wonderful world.

Juk

Description

Jük is a customizable smartphone application for music listening. Utilizing the same technology as other applications in the same genre, Jük combines music and weather to create a user-friendly space where both exist harmoniously. Syncing with the current weather as well as the user’s calendar, Jük selects music hand-tailored to fit the user’s day.

Users are provided the ability to listen based on two categories, Weather or Calendar. Calendar loads the user’s schedule, selecting a specific song per activity and checking off activities after their completion. Weather displays the current climate with two options, “fight it,” or “let it roll.” Selecting “fight it” results in music that opposes the current weather. For example, “I’m Walking on Sunshine” may be selected on a rainy day. Selecting “let it roll” results in music that fits the weather, for example “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” on a snowy day in December. This option allows users a multilayered approach to customizing the music they hear without spending time and energy hand-selecting songs.

It’s a proven fact; music reduces stress and anxiety. Jük helps to do this, making your life less stressful, one day at a time.

Mission

Offering customizable music selection to reduce stress, increase productivity, and help you be your best.

Vision

Creating a friendly environment where music articulates the tone of your day.
