Published Government Actions Impacting F-1 & J-1 Students
- September 14, 2026: Federal Preliminary Injunction on Implementation of Establishing a Fixed Time Period of Admission and an Extension of Stay Procedure
- On Sept. 14, 2026, a federal judge issued a nationwide preliminary injunction which blocked the rule from taking effect on Sept. 15, 2026.
- The rule will not be implemented without further judicial action.
- A status conference hearing has been set for Oct. 2, 2026 regarding next steps in the litigation.
