Tanner MacArthur is a painter and mixed-media artist exploring connections between urban disorder, collage, and traditional modes of abstraction. Howard Leu is an interdisciplinary artist. His current work explores his recollection of growing up as a child of Taiwanese immigrants in the United States.
Springdances 2025 presents an evening of premieres from guest artist choreographer and original faculty works.
This exciting night of music will feature music from Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago performed by UWM students and Milwaukee community members. The UWM Steel PANthers Steel Band and the Community World Music Ensemble will join forces on a program highlighting traditional and arranged music played on Guatemalan marimba doble and Trinidadian steel pans.
The UWM Wind Ensemble & Symphony Band will perform on respective halves of this concert. Both the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band regularly perform repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the present.

Oksana Kryzhanivska’s interactive art installations, sculptures, and screen-based works have been exhibited in Canada, the USA, Australia, Germany, Italy, China, and numerous online exhibitions. Oksana’s work explores the extension of a human body with technology, investigating our norms of perception.

The New Music Ensemble will perform works by contemporary and living composers. This eclectic musical group will also perform compositions for chamber ensembles and large ensembles mixing winds, brass, and percussion. Featured pieces are by student composers from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The 18-member UWM Jazz Ensemble performs music written or arranged specifically for a large jazz orchestra. The repertoire includes music from Duke Ellington and Count Basie as well as contemporary composers such as Maria Schneider, Tom Matta and Bob Mintzer.
