The University Community Orchestra at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee presents an engaging and wide-ranging program under the direction of Dr. Jun Kim and the assistant conductor, Dr. Jeong-In Kim. Bringing together students and community musicians, this ensemble celebrates the shared joy of music-making through a dynamic selection of repertoire.
The program features beloved works from across the orchestral tradition, including Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite No. 2, Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance No. 1, and Bach’s timeless Air. Audiences will also enjoy lighter and contemporary selections such as It’s About Time and highlights from Pirates of the Caribbean, alongside a collection of Puccini opera arias presented in orchestral form.
Blending classical masterworks with familiar favorites, this concert reflects the diversity and spirit of the UWM community. Join us for an evening of expressive music, collaboration, and the unique energy of an orchestra that brings together musicians of all backgrounds.
The University Community Orchestra is a full symphonic ensemble that welcomes players of all standard orchestral instruments—including strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Open to UWM students, faculty, staff, and community members ages 15 and up, the ensemble offers a supportive environment for intermediate-level musicians to rehearse and perform together. Programs feature accessible and enjoyable repertoire, including classical masterworks, light classics, and pops selections.
