Special Features: Safety First, Action Second: Prop Weapons on Set

Props and weapons can add tension, realism, and excitement to a film—but they also require serious preparation and safety protocols. This workshop, facilitated by Peck School of the Arts own, Liv Mauseth, will introduce students to the fundamentals of prop weaponry, responsible on-set practices, and communication between directors, actors, and crew. Learn how to create the illusion of danger on screen while prioritizing safety behind the camera. This is NOT a hands-on demonstration.

Liv Mauseth is a Milwaukee based stage and production manager with a decade’s worth of experience. They are certified in theatrical firearms through the Society of American Fight Directors and have extensive experience with prop weaponry. They have previously worked at Milwaukee Opera Theater, First Stage, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Chamber Theater, Horlick High School, the Bristol Renaissance Faire, the Janesville Renaissance Faire, Vanguard MKE, The Constructivists, Sunstone Studios, and Bard and Bourbon.
