Webinar | Black LGBTQ Rights and Activism in Brazil

Join the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies and our UWM partners at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Black Student Cultural Center on Thursday, February 4th at 2 pm CT for a webinar presentation with Marco Antonio Fera. The event titled, “Black LGBTQ Rights and Activism in Brazil,” will be the first spring 2021 presentation in our on-going series, “Black History and Black Activism in Brazil and the United States.” 

Marco Antonio Fera is an actor, activist of ethnic and racial issues, cultural and content producer, multi-artist, post-graduate in the Fundamentals of Culture and Arts from the São Paulo State University (UNESP). He graduated in Teatro and Art Education from Arte Educação from the University of Sorocaba (UNISO). He studied theater as an exchange student in Santiago, Chile. He studied acting for TV and Cinema at the Wolf Maya and Fernando Leal schools. He has a fifteen-year career in theater, advertising, and cinema. He is the founder of Grupo Trança de Teatro. He is also the creator of the YouTube channel “Pretinho Mais Que Basico.
