The Department of Africology PhD student Kitonga Alexander received the inaugural Positively Milwaukee Award. The awards ceremony will be televised on WTMJ4 on Friday, October 20 at 7pm.

The award was granted to Kitonga for his years of service as a grade school teacher and for the creation of the Walk of Truth, a social journey that members of the community who are returning from incarceration navigate through with Kitonga. He has also had the privilege to teach Somali Bantu children from East Africa.
