Graduate Certificate in Energy Engineering

As energy resources dwindle, workers are increasingly expected to stay informed of the latest technologies that can address the shortage and make efficient use of energy.

The interdisciplinary Certificate in Energy Engineering Program is open to post-baccalaureate students who are interested in continuing education to further their careers or gain experience in the energy area. Students gain knowledge about the design of electrical and mechanical devices and systems. The program provides the flexibility to focus on specific energy areas in advanced courses according to student discretion.

To obtain the certificate, students are required to complete a minimum of 15 credits from the lists of Groups A and B courses of which at least 12 credits must be taken at UWM. Students must successfully complete at least two courses from Group A to obtain an Energy Certificate. Additional electives can be chosen from Group B. At least 6 credits should be 700-level or above.
