Activities for Emotional Wellness
Be Well with Self-Care
- Get plenty of consistent, quality sleep
- Take a nature walk and notice your surroundings
- Engage with YOU @ UWM for self-care tips, guidance, self-assessments and resources to support your emotional wellness
- Visit the Mindful Space, Sensory Space, and other places conducive to meditation or relaxation
- Improve your mood by appreciating the arts. Engage in Peck School of the Arts student art exhibitions, film and animations screenings, and performances in theatre, music and dance.
- Take care of your body and mind with exercise and movement, indoors and outdoors.
Be Well in Community
- Connect virtually with others about what’s on your mind in relation to your mental health
- Participate in peer-led wellness workshops or events to develop your self-care practices
Be Well with Professional Support
- Have a brief and informal conversation with a counselor about a concern
- Explore your use of alcohol or other drugs and ways to lessen the downsides you may be experiencing
- Participate in a therapy group
- Start short-term individual or couples therapy, or utilize psychiatric services
- Utilize Clinical Case Management services to get connected with off-campus mental health resources
- Seek crisis care if you are facing a mental health crisis or need immediate support
