Kick off UWM’s Homecoming Week by participating in the first-ever UWM Indoor Triathlon from February 10th through the 21st!

Students will track their progress throughout the two weeks working to complete a Sprint distance triathlon! We have 50 dry-fit, long-sleeve shirts for those who complete the triathlon (awarded based on completion, not fastest time).

Don’t miss this chance to make history and kick off Homecoming Week with the UWM Indoor Triathlon!

How to Participate

Students can pick up a paper tracking log at the following locations in the Klotsche Center:

  • 1st Floor: Front Desk, Pool, Equipment Room
  • 3rd Floor: Track, Cardio Room

Log your progress throughout the two weeks. Once you have completed the Sprint distances, return your tracking log to the Klotsche Center Front Desk. You will be contacted via email about receiving your shirt.

Teams

Teams of 1-3 people will work to collectively complete the Olympic distances (31.7 laps in the pool, 24.8-mile bike, and 6.2-mile run). Teams can either share a single tracking log or return multiple logs to the Klotsche Center Front Desk stapled together.

FAQs

Who can participate?

Students! Enrolled UWM students paying segregated fees have a Klotsche Center Membership.

What equipment do I need?

For swimming, we suggest you wear a swimsuit or clothes you are comfortable swimming in, a swim cap, and goggles. Towels are available for a fee at the Equipment Room. For running, walking and biking, we suggest sneakers that lace up. Stay hydrated, bring a water bottle with you!

Why is the swim distance shortened to the UWM Sprint distance?

The Klotsche Center pool is open for fewer hours than the rest of the facility, potentially making it more challenging to schedule your swims. You are welcome to swim further than the UWM Sprint distance!

What distances do I complete if I’m part of a team (1-3 people?)

We ask that a team collectively completes the Olympic distances to qualify for shirts. Each individual on the team will receive a shirt. Please hand in the log(s) stapled together at the front desk.

What happens if I lose my log?

This event runs on the honor system. Please grab a new log or feel free to staple multiple together.

What if I complete more than the Sprint distance?

Way to go! We encourage you to log all of your progress and challenge yourself to work towards greater distances.

Does everyone get a shirt?

There are only 50 shirts available for finishers (awarded based on completion, not fastest time). Once you return your completed log, we will contact you via email about receiving your shirt. Shirts will not be distributed until after Feb 21st.

Can I count activities that I completed outside?

Yes! We’ll always celebrate physical activity in the sun!
