Photographing and Filming Policy for UWM Klotsche Center and Pavillion

University Recreation (UREC) welcomes the use of the Klotsche Center and Pavilion (KCP) and Engelmann Gym (ENG) building for filming and photography projects. Please submit requests ASAP, keeping in mind that requests received for filming projects with less than 10 business days’ notice, prior to the requested start date, may not be accommodated.

To help maintain an appropriate environment for physical activity, study and research in the KCP/ENG and to protect the confidentiality of users, anyone interested in filming or photographing in the KCP/ENG must:

  • Complete a Media Permissions Form
  • Agree to Media Release Policy Via Electronic Signature Below
  • Obtain Email Authorization Confirmation from University Recreation Authorized Administrator

  • The authorization will only be for a specific date. A blanket authorization will not be granted.

  • Due to state health and safety requirements outlined in Wisconsin State Legislature Chapter ATCP 76, Safety, Maintenance and Operation of Public Pools and Water Attractions, the pool will require staffing according to the ATCP 76 and be done when the pool is closed to the public.
  • Statement from student on the purpose of the photography or filming in the KCPENG including an outline on what will or could be photographed or filmed in the KCPENG.
  • This statement by the professor or instructor, submitted in this area by the student requesting filming, must identify the scope of the project and that the project is University Related. Contact information of the professor or instructor is required to be submitted with the statement. A copy and pasted email from the professor or instructor is sufficient.
  • Agreement to Obtain Media Release (s): To maintain UWM University Recreations’ commitment to confidentiality and privacy, the following rule must be followed while filming/photographing within the Klotsche Center and Pavilion and Engelmann Gym building:
    • When filming/photographing individual(s), permission must be granted (verbally or with a release form provided by the photographer) by the individual(s) being filmed/photographed in advance of film/photographs being taken. This applies to people who may incidentally be included in the background or foreground of a shot. This applies to all persons, including permanent and part time employees.
