Are you looking to take the next step in your fitness journey and help others reach their goals? Become a personal trainer today!
The Personal Trainer Education Course (PTEC) is a preparation course, designed to prepare participants for nationally accredited certification exams to become a Certified Personal Trainer. This preparatory course aligns with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) curriculum.
It includes access to practice questions, supplementary resources, and practical activities to prepare you to start training clients and/or take the certification exam. No previous experience is required. This is not a certification. UWM students who participate in this course have the enhanced opportunity to apply for personal training student work positions with UREC.
The Personal Trainer Education Course will cover the following domains. At the conclusion of the academic-based portion of the course, trainees will complete a written exam to assess learning outcomes.
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Client Assessment
