Student Patricia Torres Najera in Journal Sentinel

Urban Studies doctoral student Patricia Torres Najera is featured in the Journal-Sentinel article “Patricia Torres Najera Adept at Bridging Differences.” Patricia is an advocate for Milwaukee and a community activist. In 1999, she was appointed by then-Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist to the Milwaukee’s City Plan Commission where she displays the unique ability to bring opposing sides together on issues that matter to our community. At Commission hearings, chairwoman Torres Najera knows the importance of allowing everyone a fair platform to present their viewpoints. Such fair communication brings the whole picture into consideration and results in more-informed decision-making.
