Parking and Transit for Fall 2026

If you don't need to park on campus each day but want to guarantee parking, consider a daily parking reservation
Student parking permits for UWM’s main campus are currently sold out. Cambridge, Kenilworth, and RiverView garages are also sold out.
Most commuter students can register for a free parking permit at U-PARK located at Capitol & Humboldt.  U-PARK has shuttles running every 10 minutes during the day to main campus.
Students can also register for a free student bus pass, or U-PASS, that can be used on any Milwaukee County Transit System bus, including several park and lot rides throughout Milwaukee county.

UWM offers a variety of flexible parking and transit options.

UWM Transportation Services recognizes that students, staff, and other community members will not be on campus full-time for the week. The following flexible parking options are offered:

  • One-day parking passes that are valid on day of purchase or for a future date on an outdoor surface lot as well as EMS or Sandburg Garages. You can purchase through the UWM Parking Reservations website. See the Surface Lot and Ungated Garage Payment page for more information.
  • Garage parking debit account tied to your PantherID. Transportation Services uses a separate debit account tied to PantherCards, not GOLD accounts. This is valid at Lubar, NWQ, Pavilion, and Union Garages. You can purchase through the Parking Portal. See the Gated Garage payment options page for more information.

Parking availability is subject to demand for each day. Transportation Services does not guarantee that a permit will be available for purchase on your desired day.

The Commuter Value Pass is available for a subsidized rate of $33 a month for faculty/staff members; Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) offers rides from several convenient park and ride lots around the county.

MCTS offers a variety of fare options to meet the needs of employees commuting a couple of times a week. There are several ways to purchase those options, too:

Payroll deduction is only available for Commuter Value Passes, not for the part-time bus passes mentioned above. No other discounts or subsidies are available.

You can set up a Transit Account through Human Resources to use pre-tax dollars to pay for the bus.
