The Office of Licensing and Product Development works on business development opportunities and special projects to consistently support the broad-based mission and goals of the office and the University. These pillars provide guidance on the allocation of resources toward initiatives and are constructed for the benefit of the University as a whole. The mission is consistent with industry standards in collegiate, pro sports and entertainment trademark licensing.

The Office of Licensing and Product Development also creates, pursues and supports specific business development opportunities through broad-based strategic initiatives. These initiatives are more action-oriented and are constructed to satisfy multiple elements of the office’s mission.

  • Position UWM as a fully-invested partner in expanding the sale of licensed goods and increasing revenues and royalties
  • Expand retail through managed opportunities and strategic partnerships
  • Increase campus and external compliance with trademark licensing requirements
  • Improve the experience and satisfaction of all customers through a focus on quality, choice, availability, creativity. Support fashion-forward initiatives and elevated retail experiences.
  • Take an engaged and visible leadership role in national organizations like ICLA and FLA and in the University’s partnership with CLC.
